Abstract

Hasnaini1), Hamzah Upu2), dan Muhammad Darwis3) 1,2,3)Pascasarjana Universitas Negeri Makassar Abstract, This study is a quantitative research with pre-experimental research that involves one class to examine the effectiveness of Creative Problem Solving learning model in mathematics learning for grade X at SMAN 9 Makassar. The population of the study were all students of grade X MIA at SMAN 9 Makassar which consisted of 8 classes. The sample was chosen by using cluster random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used were tests for student mathematics learning outcomes, observation sheets for activities, and questionnaires for student responses. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results of the study obtained α=5% which shows that the implementationi of the CPS learning model is effective in mathematics learning with the fulfillment of the following criteria: (1) the learning outcomes meet the effectiveness criteria descriptively and inferential in terms of post-test scores, n-gain score is more than 0.3, and the classical completeness is more than 80%, (2) the students’ activities during the learning process meet the effectiveness criteria descriptively and inferential, which is more than 75%, and (3) the students’ responses after the implementation of CPS learning model meet the effectiveness criteria of more than 80% with the category of ‘tending to be positive’.
