Abstract

This research is a quasi experimental. This study aims to find out 1) description of students 'reasoning abilities taught by applying learning model of Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) Model with Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach (CTL), 2) description of students' reasoning ability taught by applying direct learning model Learning model 3) The possitive effect of Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) with Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Approach towardstudents’ mathematics reasoning ability. The population of this study was all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 8 Makassar in the even semester of the academic year 2017/2018 and selected 2 classes cluster random sampling as a sample of research. Data analysis techniques were performed using statistical and inferential techniques. The result of descriptive statistic analysis shows that: 1) students' mathematics reasoning ability after applied learning model of auditory intellectually repetition with Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach (CTL) are in high category, 2)students' mathematics reasoning ability after applied direct instructionare in the medium category. The result of inferential statistical analysis shows that students' mathematics reasoning ability after applied learning model is higher than direct instruction learning model. Based on the description it can be concluded that the learning model of Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) with Contextual Teaching and Learning approach (CTL) has anpositive effect on students' mathematical reasoning ability compared to direct learning model.
