Abstract

Various efforts have been made in Indonesia to improve the quality of education, including improving the quality and productivity of educational research. Integrating research results into classroom learning is expected to enhance the quality of education. The government’s commitment to research can be seen in increased research funding through several existing research schemes and mandatory output demands from funded research. This chapter reviews research in mathematics education funded by National Competitive Research in Indonesia according to research types, topics dealt with, research focus, research outputs, and target audiences. This review provides an overview of the dominant research trends and absences toward more diverse and effective education research to improve mathematics education in Indonesia. We hope that this chapter will stimulate discussions among researcher administrators, educators, and all who are concerned about quality education in Indonesia.
