Abstract

The objectives of the research were to discover the implementation of scientific approach in science learning, to discover the description of the students’ learning interests on the implementation of scientific approach in science learning on learning interest. The research ‘was quantitative which was conducted at SDN 170 Lembang in Pinrang District with pretest and posttest only control group design. The subject of the research were 16 students in experiment class and 16 students in control class chosen by using cluster sampling. Techniques and instruments used in data collection were questionnaire, instrument validity and reliability. The data of the research were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential analysis. The data of the research showed that learning by using scientific approach gave positive influence on learning interest because scientific approach employed the principles: (1) centered to the students, (2) develop the students’ creativities, (3) created fun and challenging condition, (4) contain values, ethics, esthetic, logic, and kinesthetic, and (5) provided various learning experiences through the implementation of various learning strategies and methods which were fun, contextual, effective, effective, efficient, and meaningful.
