Pettarani Makassar, 90222 ABSTRAK Empati merupakan suatu proses kognitif individu mengenai kondisi individu lain yang seakan individu berada dalam posisi individu lain. Empati mendorong perilaku menolong dan mencegah individu melakukan perbuatan menyakiti individu lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara empati dan forgiveness pada remaja pasca perceraian orangtua di Kota Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan accidental sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala empati yang diturunkan dari aspek kognitif dan afektif dan skala forgiveness dari aspek avoidance motivation, revenge motivation dan benevolence motivation. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data uji korelasi product moment dengan menggunakan batuan SPSS 22.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai korelasi antara empati dan forgiveness yaitu 0,368 dengan nilai signifikansi p= 0.000 (p < 0.05). Nilai koefisien korelasi tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara empati dan pemaafan pada remaja pasca perceraian orangtua di kota Makassar. Hal ini berarti semakin tinggi empati yang dimiliki seorang anak pada orangtua yang telah bercerai akan semakin tinggi forgiveness seorang anak pada orangtua yang telah bercerai. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini terdapat hubungan positif antara empati dan forgiveness pada remaja pasca perceraian orangtua di kota Makassar. Penelitian ini bermanfaat bagi remaja untuk memaafkan dan bersikap empati kepada orangtua mereka yag bercerai. Empathy helps promote good behavior and preventing people from committing harm another individual. This study aims to examine the relationship between empathy and forgiveness in adolescent post-divorce in Makassar. This study used quantitative research methods. The sample in this research use accidental sampling. This study uses the empathy scale of cognitive and affective aspects and forgiveness scale of aspects of avoidance motivation, revenge motivation and benevolence motivation. This study uses data analysis product moment correlation test using SPSS 22.0 for windows. The results showed that the correlation between empathy and forgiveness that is 0.368 with a significance value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05). The correlation coefficient values indicate that the t erdapat positive relationship between empathy and forgiveness in adolescent post-divorce in the city of Makassar. This means that the higher empathy possessed a child to parents who had divorced the higher the forgiveness of a child to the parents who have divorced. The conclusion of this study, there is a positive relationship between empathy and forgiveness in adolescent post-divorce in the city of Makassar.
