Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe how the general picture of Islamic people's finance bank in Indonesia, what is the background of the establishment of the Palleko - Takalar Islamic people's finance bank, and the impact of the existence of the Palleko Takalar true solar Islamic finance bank. The writing of this thesis is classified as the History of Islamic Banking which focuses on Islamic Islamic Bank as research material. This study uses a historical research method which consists of four stages, namely heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The data collection method was carried out by conducting field research and literature research. The results show that since the beginning of the development of the Islamic banking system, in two decades of development of Islamic finance, there have been many advances, both in the aspects of institutions and supporting infrastructure, regulatory tools and monitoring systems, as well as public awareness and literacy of Islamic financial services and institutions. finance as an intermediary based on Islamic principles. Although Islamic banks are still new, they have an important role in the economy. Its main task is to collect funds from the community and channel these funds to borrowers, then use them to invest in the production or investment sector, in addition to being used for buying goods and services so that economic activity can grow and develop and improve living standards.
