Abstract

ABSTRAK Andi Sry Wahyuni, 2011. Meningkatkan Kemampuan Penalaran Dan Komunikasi Matematika Melalui Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Jigsaw Pada Siswa Kelas VIII5 SMP Negeri 26 Makassar. Skripsi. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Classroom Action Research) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran dan komunikasi matematika melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw pada siswa kelas VIII5 SMP Negeri 26 Makassar semester genap tahun pelajaran 2010/2011 dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 34 siswa (10 laki – laki dan 24 perempuan). Siklus I dilaksanakan sebanyak 4 kali pertemuan dan siklus II dilaksanakan sebanyak 4 kali pertemuan. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes penalaran dan komunikasi matematika, observasi dan angket respon siswa. Selanjutnya data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis kualitatif dan analisis kuantitatif. Hasil yang diperoleh melalui analisis deskriptif kuantitatif sebagai berikut: (1) hasil tes kemampuan penalaran dan komunikasi matematika siswa kelas VIII5 SMP Negeri 26 Makassar pada siklus I dengan nilai rata-rata 61,98 dari jumlah siswa 34 orang dengan nilai tertinggi 72,5 dan nilai terendah 42,5 dengan standar deviasi 6,87, namun ketuntasan klasikal belum tercapai yaitu 26,47% (≥80%) (2) hasil tes penalaran dan komunikasi matematika siswa kelas VIII5 SMP Negeri 26 Makassar pada siklus II berada pada kategori tuntas dengan nilai rata-rata 76,39 dari jumlah siswa 34 orang dengan nilai tertinggi 92,5 dan nilai terendah 30 dengan standar deviasi 15,68 dan ketuntasan klasikal telah mencapai 82,35% (3) adanya peningkatan hasil tes penalaran dan komunikasi matematika siswa kelas VIII5 SMP Negeri 26 Makassar dari siklus I ke siklus II. Data hasil observasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keaktifan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah yang diberikan, peningkatan dalam kekompakan berdiskusi memecahkan masalah, dan peningkatan keberanian siswa dalam menyajikan hasil diskusi. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran dan komunikasi matematika siswa kelas VIII5 SMP Negeri 26 Makassar. This research is the Classroom Action Research (Classroom Action Research), which aims to improve communication skills and mathematical reasoning through models of cooperative learning jigsaw type VIII5 grade students of Junior High School 26 Makassar semester 2010/2011 school year with 34 students as research subjects Cycle I meeting held 4 times and cycle II meeting held 4 times. Data retrieval is done using mathematical reasoning tests and communication, observation and questionnaire responses of students. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed using qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. The results obtained through quantitative descriptive analysis as follows: (1) the results of tests of reasoning and communication skills math class VIII¬5 students of Jinor High School 26 Makassar on the cycle I with the average value of 61.98 from 34 people the number of students with the highest value of 72.5 and the lowest value of 42.5 with a standard deviation of 6.87, but not yet reached the classical completeness of 26.47% (≥ 80%) (2) the results of tests of reasoning and communication VIII5 grade math students of Junior High School 26 Makassar in cycle are in category II completed with the average value of 76.39 from 34 people the number of students with the highest value of 92.5 and the lowest value of 30 with a standard deviation of 15.68 and a classical exhaustiveness has reached 82.35% (3) an increase in test results of students' mathematical reasoning and communication VIII5 class Junior High School 26 Makassar from cycle I to cycle II. Data observations showed an increase of activity of students in solving a given problem, the increase in compactness discussions to solve problems, and increase students' courage in presenting the discussions. From these results it can be concluded that the type of cooperative learning jigsaw model could improve the ability of reasoning and communication VIII5 grade math students Junior High School 26 Makassar.
