Abstract

This research aimed to study the effect of teacher skills on making variations towards student learning motivation in class XI of the Accounting skills program at SMK Negeri 1 Makassar. The variables in this research were teacher skills on making variations as an independent variable and the students’ learning motivation as a dependent variable. The populations in this research were all of the students’ XI accounting skill program consists of 133 students. The sampling technique used simple random sampling with the sample consists of 57 students’. The data were collected through questionnaires and documentation. The data analyzed using the descriptive analyze, instrument test, and hypothesis test. The results of the research showed teacher skill on making variation overall has an average percentage score of 80,3 percent, the classified as good. The student learning motivation has an average 85,2 percent and the classified as a very good. Based on the result of the analysis conducted, the simple linear regression equation model has obtained Y= 30,920 + 0,411X means that each addition 1 point on teacher skill on making variations, it will increase 0,411 unit student learning motivation. The T-table analysis obtained the significant value 0,000 < 0,05 means that teacher skill on making variation had significantly influenced towards students learning motivation, the correlation of product-moment analysis was obtained the value of the coefficient of correlation (r) = 0,688 on interval 0,600-0,799 had strong relationship between teacher skill on making motivation and student learning motivation. Then, the coefficient of correlation ( ) by 0,473 means the effect of teacher skill on making variations by 47,3 percent and the rest 52,7 percent influenced by the other factors. From that result, the proposed hypothesis was accepted. Keywords : Teacher Skill on Making Variations, Learning Motivation
