Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Perbandingan logit dan probit pada faktor yang mempengaruhi keputusan mahasiswa angkatan 2012 matematika UNM setelah sarjana. Variabel respon dari penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga kategori, yaitu lanjut studi, bekerja dan lainnya. Variabel bebasnya adalah IPK mahasiswa, (X_1), pendidikan orang tua (X_2), pendapatan orang tua (X_3) dan organisasi (X_4). Estimasi parameter pada model logit dan probit digunakan metode Maximum Likelihood Estimation. Variabel yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan mahasiswa angkatan 2012 matematika UNM setelah sarjana pada model logit yaitu variabel IPK (X_1 ). Sedangkan pada model probit yaitu variabel IPK (X_1 ) dan variabel pendidikan orang tua (X_2 (1)). Berdasarkan nilai R2 Mc. Fadden, dengan selisih yang relatif kecil diperoleh hasil model probit lebih baik daripada model logit. Kata kunci: Keputusan Mahasiswa, Logit, Probit, Maximum Likelihood Estimation, R2 Mc. Dependent variables of this research consisted of three categories, i.e. continue to study, to work and the others.The independent variables are the IPK of the student (X_1), education of their parents (X_2), income of their parents (X_3) and organisation (X_4).The parameter estimation on logit and probit model used method of Maximum Likelihood Estimation. The variables that significantly affecting the decision of students in 2012thmathematics UNM after undergraduate on logit model is IPK (X_1) variable, while on probit model are variable of IPK (X_1) and education of their parents. According to R2 Mc. Fadden value, with small relative different so the result is probit model better than logit model. Key words: The decision of Students,Logit,Probit,Maximum Likelihood Estimation.
