Abstract

RAHMAT SUGIONO. 2024. Development of Self-Management Module to reduce academic procrastination. Guidance and Counseling Study Program. Department of Educational Psychology and guidance, Faculty of Education. Makassar State University. (Supervised by Abdullah Pandang and Sahril Buchori). This study developed a self-management module as a means to reduce students' academic procrastination. The objectives of this research are: 1) to determine the development of self-management module to reduce students' academic procrastination; 2) to form a prototype of self-management module to reduce students' academic procrastination; 3) to determine the validity of self-management module to reduce students' academic procrastination; 4) to determine the practicality of self-management module to reduce students' academic procrastination. This research uses the 4D development model which has 4 stages, namely: 1) Define; 2) Design; 3) Development; but in this study the 4th stage was not implemented. The instruments used in this research are questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis technique. Based on the results of the study , it shows that 1) students of SMP Negeri 2 Ulaweng have a low understanding of academic procrastination and self-management; 2) the prototype of the self�management module consists of material on self-management and academic procrastination, including: definitions of self-management and academic procrastination, factors that cause academic procrastination, aspects of self�management and products in the form of modules on self-management; 3) the assessment of the self-management module conducted by media experts obtained a percentage of 89% with very valid criteria. Assessment by material experts obtained a percentage of 80% with very valid criteria. 4) the assessment by the teacher obtained a value from the three aspects of usability, feasibility, and accessibility obtained a percentage of 78% with practical criteria and the assessment by students obtained a percentage of 88.12% with very practical criteria. In conclusion, the validity level of the self-management module to reduce students' academic procrastination is declared valid as a means to reduce students' procrastination. And the practicality of the self�management module to reduce students' academic procrastination is declared to be practical according to the results of the practitioner test conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Ulaweng so that the media is suitable for testing.
