Abstract

This research was aimed at investigating the influence of mind mapping techniques towards cognitive learning achievement of students at the Biology Department of the State University of Makassar. This research was conducted from May to June 2015. It was conducted in six class meetings with the task of making mind map on experimental class and noting the presence of a control class. The subjects of this research were Biology students who were enrolled in the Vertebrate Zoology course material on reptiles and birds. The experimental class has 53 students while the control class has 36 students. The data was collected through the learning achievement test. The data was analyzed with the t-test inferential statistic. Results of the research shows that there is significant difference on student’s cognitive learning achievement between the experimental group and the control group.
