Abstract

Had done research about study of land use based satellite imagery data with geographic information systems methods at District Sopai aimed to identification of land use and analyze the broad distribution of land use at the area. Data used in this research is secondary image data digital SPOT 7 acquisition 28th January 2016 had been interpreted. Results of research showed the identification of land use and the broad distribution of land use with the seven types of land use classification is Forest area is 703,26 ha; Garden mixed is 877,54 ha; Open land is 215,67 ha; Ricefields of lebak is 274,52 ha; Ricefield of rainwater is 230,45 ha; Scrub is 4,71 ha; and Moor is 2,35 ha. In 2013 and 2014 the broad of land use at District Sopai had constant, while in 2015 and 2016 had increased. This is due to activity of land use by community at the area.
