Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of climate change and the analysis of the characteristics of extreme rainfall in the city of Makassar. The purpose of this study 1). to analyze the phenomenon of changes in precipitation in the city of Makassar and 2). to analyze changes in temperature Makassar. The data used are daily precipitation data obtained from PSDA, the data of monthly rainfall and temperature from years 1993-2012 obtained from BMKG region IV Makassar. Daily rainfall data is used to see the extreme rainfall whereas monthly rainfall and temperature to see the phenomenon peruban respectively. From the analysis of the data showed that rainfall Makassar including monsoonal type. For 20 years (1993-2012) the city of Makassar extreme rainfall occurred at the January, February, March and December around adari 101-376 mm / day. Climate change in Makassar especially rainfall is influenced by the occurrence of La Nina and El Nino.Suhu monthly average Makassar most low occurred in January, February, March and December, the lowest temperature while the house terjadipada months from May to October. The higher intensity of rainfall, the lower the air temperature and vice versa.
