Abstract

arametric Analysis of Abattoir Solid Waste from Tamangapa Makassar Abattoir as Composted Materials. The aim of this research is to analyze the variables of solid waste quality Tamangapa Makassar Abattoir. The samples were rumen contents and feces from cattles taken from Tamangapa slaughterhouse in Makassar. Total nitrogen (TN) was measured with Kjeldahl method, total P (TP) was measured with spectrophotometry, total K (TK) was measured with AAS method, organic carbon was measured with Chumies method, C/N ratio was measured with calculation method, water was measured with oven-dry method, and organic contents were measured with loss on ignition method. Visible characteristics such as texture and colors of the solid waste were also recorded. Compost from sawdust has the highest C content, C/N ratio, and organic contents, compost from rumen contents has the highest TN and TP, while compost from faecal materials of cattles have the highest Kalium. All parameters including TN, TP, TK, C, C/N ratio, and water contents have fulfilled the SNI standard requirements. However, organic contents from rumen contents and faecal materials were lower than SNI standard while the pH was higher. The compost from rumen contents was light brown rough-textured whereas that from faecal materials was dark brown with soil alike morphology and softer textured.
