Abstract

This research is a development research that aims at discovering (1) the interactive media profile using animation in solid figure learning, (2) the practicality of interactive media using animation in solid figure learning, (3) the effectiveness of interactive media using animation in solid figure learning. The product produced by this study is interactive media using animation in solid figure learning at SMPN 1 Mallusetasi based on PowerPoint Microsoft software. The media development employed DDD-E (Decide, Design, Develop, and Evaluate) development media. The results of the study obtained (1) the development of learning media was conducted through four stages of development. The first stage was decision making which included determining the type of software, hardware, and media title. The second stage was the design creation which included material analysis, making Flowchart, Storyboards, and research instruments were in the forms of evaluation questionnaires for material expert, media expert, teacher’s response questionnaire, and student’s response questionnaire. The third stage was media development which included collecting and making the necessary elements and continued with making media with PowerPoint Microsoft software. The fourth stage was evaluation conducted in two stages, namely the stage before the media is tested on students by media experts and the stage after the media had been tested on students by the Mathematics teacher. The feasibility of learning media was based on material expert validation with 84 % which was in very valid category. While the feasibility of learning media based on media expert validation was 96 % in very valid category. The practicality of interactive media using animations was discovered based on the results of students’ responses by 94 % and the result of teacher’s response was 96 % categorized as practical categories or suitable to be applied in learning. The effectiveness of interactive media using animation was discovered based on Mathematics learning outcomes which obtained 89 % in high ability category.
