Abstract
ABSTRACT Dropout number is one of the important indicators to measure the human progress resources in education sector. In this research used the approaches of Generalized Poisson Regression to get the best model and to determine the influencing factors of droput number for children of compulsory age in Sulawesi Selatan. The result of this research show that factors which significantly influence the drop out number for children of compulsory age in Sulawesi Selatan are ratio of student to teacher, the number of poor people, population density, and the average lenght of school.
