Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the role of collaboration in increasing the number of rural tourism visitors for community welfare, so that it can be sustainable with the colaboration of various parties. Qualitative research was chosen as the method in this collaborative research, which views collaboration as a horizontal and vertical activity with three components, namely communication, added value, and deliberation. The results of the study indicate that the three components have been running in rural tourism cooperation, while still referring to the applicable rules, habits, and customs. The communication component has been carried out well by various parties in implementing horizontal and vertical relations, but the added value and deliberation components have not been optimally. So there are still many problems in the development of rural tourism that have not been resolved properly. Further research is still needed, especially how to increase regional income and the welfare of rural communities through tourism.
