Abstract

Analyzed about physics characteristic and mechanics characteristic of Maros Karst has been done research. The purpose of this research is to known the value of physics characteristic from the karst as density and porosity, and to known about mechanics characteristic as compressive strength of the karst. The process has begin when we took the rocks from five parts of Maros Rocks Woods. Maros Rock Woods is a region of Maros that has extensive karst area. In this research we found density of the rocks was 2-3 gr/cm3 and the porosity of the rocks was a limestone dolomyte and a limestone karstificationMeanwhile the compressive strength of the rocks was 20,87 MPa, 23,69 MPa and 33,70 Mpa.
