Abstract

The objectives of the research are to discover what type of mistakes the students made in solving mathematics problem in High Order Thinking Skills level from each learning style, to discover the causes of mistakes in solving mathematics problem in High Order Thinking Skills level from each learning style, and to discover the difference of mistake types made by students in solving mathematics problem in High Order Thinking Skills level from each learning style. Based on the data analysis result, it can be concluded that mistakes of the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic subjek in solving two variable linear equation system (SPLDV) in each stage, namely in planning solution stage: kinesthetic subject made factual mistake because the subjects were unable to abstract what was known and what was asked. In problem solving stage : visual, auditory, and kinesthetic subjects made operational mistake because the lack of understanding about two variabel linear equation system concept. In checking/reviewing stage : auditory and kinesthetic subjects made operational mistake because the lack of understanding about two variable linear equation system concept.
