Abstract

MUHAMMADIYAH AT TOMBOLOPAO IN GOWA DISTRICT IN 1967-2015* MUSRIADI** ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis latar belakang kehadiran Muhammadiyah di Tombolopao, untuk mengetahui proses berdiri dan perkembangan Muhammadiyah di Tombolopao sebelum tahun 1967, dan untuk mengetahui peran Muhammadiah dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat di Tombolopao pasca 1967. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah yaitu empat tahap. Heuristik yaitu mengumpulkan sumber-sumber sejarah melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Kemudian penulis melakukan kritik sumber terhadap sumber-sumber yang telah diperoleh di lapangan. Selain itu penulis melakukan analisis data dan terakhir menuliskan dalam bentuk karya ilmiah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Muhammadiyah di Tombolopao di bawa oleh Samiun, seorang guru dari Bonthain (Bantaeng ) yang ditugaskan pemerintah Belanda untuk mengajar di Tombolopao setelah berguru pada Haji Ba Alwi di Maros dan menyebarkan Muhammadiyah di Tombolopao hingga sekarang ini. Pada awalnya, sambutan masyarakat beragam. Ada yang menyambut positif adapula yang negatif. Mereka yang menyambut negatif adalah mereka yang berbeda pandangan terhadap cara-cara pemahaman Islam dan praktek-praktek ibadah termasuk menentang perbuatan yang dianggap bid’ah, khuraffat dan takhayul.. Hingga sekarang ini, Muhammadiyah Cabang Pao Tombolo telah mampu memperlihatkan pengaruhnya kepada masyarakat Di Tombolopao. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari amal usaha Muhammadiyah Cabang Pao Tombolo bagi pemberdayaan masyarakat Islam. Amal usaha yang dilakukan meliputi beberapa bidang antara lain, bidang tabligh, dengan mendirikan masjid dan majelis taklim. Bidang pendidikan, dengan mendirikan sekolah-sekolah mulai dari taman kanak-kanak sampai tingkat sekolah menengah atas. Sedangkan dalam bidang sosial ekonomi, dengan melakukan bakti sosial diantaranya, penyantunan anak yatim dan fakir miskin serta mendirikan koperasi untuk para petani Kata Kunci: Muhammadiyah, Tombolopao, Gowa ABSTRACT Musriadi. 2106. Discussing the development of Muhammadiyah in Tombolopao, the background of the study is because the organization of Muhammadiyah keep progressing in recent years. Therefore, the researcher is interested to study the development of Muhammadiyah branch at Tombolopao in Gowa District. The objectives of the research are to discover the background of the existence of Muhammadiyah as well as the influence of community empowerment in Tombolopao. The research employs historical method conducted in four stages. Heuristic is collecting historical resources through observation, interview, and documentation. Then, the researcher performed resource critic toward the field resources. Moreover, the recearcher conducts data analyzis and writes it in a form of scientific word at the end. The result of the research reveal that Muhammadiyah at Tombolopao was introduced by Samiun by a Dutch teacher from Bonthain, after he studied to Haji Ba Alwi in Maros. At the beginning, the community response was varios. Some welcomed positively but some welcomed negatively, Those who welcomed negatively were those who had different views in understanding Islam and worship practices including against what they considerend as bid’ah, khuraffat, and takhayyul. To date, Muhammadiyah branch at Pao Tombolo had been able to show the influence to the community in Tombolopao. This cloud be seen from Muhammadiyah charity organization branch of Pao Tombolo to the empowerment of Moslem community. The charity organizations covered some divisions such as tabligh division by building mosques and majelis taklim. Education division was conducted by building schools from kindergarten to high school. While socio-economic division was conducted by doing social activity such as assisting the orphans, poor people, and building coop for farmer. Key Word: Muhammadiyah, Tombolopao, Gowa
