Abstract

Sea urchin (Diadema setosum) is one type of marine biota that origilally from the Echinodermata Phylum which is often found in almost every sea in Indonesian. Even Today, sea urchins are still not used optimally, some people use them as food ingredients because they contain high nutritional value. This study aims to determine the content of bioactive compounds from sea urchins extract (Diadema setosum). This study is explorative research type. The Sample was carried out by maceration extraction Method using methanol solvents. The obtained extract then carried out by phytochemical tests. The results of sea urchin extract are 17.49 grams. The conclusion of this study is that bioactive compounds that have positivresult in phytochemical tests is alkaloid.
