Abstract

This research raised the main problem that is the The abilty to still life with pencil drawing technique of Students MIA 5 year twelve at SMAN 4 Takalar. This study aims to obtain data regarding the ability to draw shapes and what factors that hinder the students to still life drawing with pencil drawing technique of Students MIA 5 year twelve at SMAN 4 Takalar. The type of this research is descriptive quantitative research, which is the research method that provide an overview of the state of the object researched . The population in this study were students of MIA 5 year twelve at SMAN 4 Takalar with the total student 335 from 11 classes. Because of the large population and limited time and energy of the author, it is necessary to sample the population by using accidental sampling technique (accidentally), so the samples in this study were 32 students. Data collection was carried out through observation, practical tests (drawing), interviews and documentation. The data obtained were then processed and analyzed using simple tables. The results showed that the abilty to still life drawing with pencil drawing technique of students MIA 5 year twelve at SMAN 4 Takalar was categorized into good enough based on the first and second assessment. However, if the assessment is combined between assessor I and II, the students of MIA 5 year twelve at SMAN 4 Takalar get good qualification as many as 17 Students (53.1%) with scores (71-85) compared to the score 86-100 with very good qualification which gained by no one student, those who got score of 56-70 with quite good qualification were 15 people (46.8%), those who got 41-55 with less qualification did not exist and those who got a score <40 with very poor qualification none in terms of the assessment aspect which includes: accuracy of form, darkness, proportion, and composition. In general, students mostly used unidirectional shading techniques rather than other shading techniques, although some of them use dusel techniques and cross shading techniques.
