Abstract
Abstract Obesity is the condition of the presence of excessive fat deposits in the body. Obesity has become a global pandanic around the world and declared by WHO as the largest chronic health problem in adolescents. This study aims to determine diet and nutritional status and its relationship with the incidence of obesity in young women in the Tamangngapa sub-district, Manggala district, Makassar city. The sample in this study were 50 respondants. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements of height and weight and assessment of Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ).Processing data using SPSS for Windows 22.0 with univariate and bivariate analysis using the correlation test and presented in the form of tables and narratives. The results showed that the normality test obtained a significance value greater than or equal to 0.05, Ifo was accepted and H1 was rejected. Then the prevalence of obesity in respondents in the Tamangngapa sub-district, Manggala sub-district, Makassar small town is 12.0oh, but based on the person correlation test, there is a correldion between the testing of diet and obesity with a value of p : 0.0002. The results of the person correlation test found a relationship with the value of p : 0.0000 in testing the relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of obesity.Then the value of p : 0.0000 in the multiple correlation test on the relationship between diet and nutritional status to the incidence of obesity. The conclusion in this study is that there is a relationship between diet and nutritional status on the incidence of obesity in young women in the Tamangngapa village, Manggala sub-district, Makassar city.
