The research method employed descriptive qualitative research with mixed method and sequential explanatory design. The study was conducted to 60 students of Mathematics Education Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah and STKIP Yayasan Pendidikan Ujung Pandang which consisted of three bathces, namely bathc 2015, batch 2016, and batch 2017. Data were collected using essay question. In answering the questions, the students were asked to give reason and to fill-in its level of confidence. The results showed that (1) students experience misconceptions in 5 of the 7 sub-concepts, in the sub-concept part whole congruent part and part group congruent part there was no misconception (2) the most misconceptions are experienced in the sub-concept of part whole non-congruent part as much as 98.3%, then number line as much as 40%, part group noncongruent parts as much as 11.7%, part group comparison as much as 6.7%, and part whole comparison as much as 6.7%.
