Abstract

ABSTRACT BAHARUDDIN. 2018. The Effectiveness of Implementing Quantum Learning Models Integrated with Brain Gym I Grade VII at SMP Muhammadiyah Belawa (supervised by Abdul Rahman and Awi Dassa) The study which was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah Belawa aimed at describing the effectiveness of mathematics learning by implementing quantum learning model integrated with brain gym to grade VII at SMP Muhammadiyah Belawa. This type of this research was pre-experimental research. The population of the study was all students of grade VII at SMP Muhammadiyah Belawa. Samples consisted of one class of grade VII.1 as the experiment class taught by using quantum learning model integrated with brain gym chosen by employing simple random sampling technique. The data collected consisted of learning outcomes in mathematics, students’ learning activity and students’ responses after implementing quantum learning model integrated with brain gym. Data of students’ activities and students’ responses were analyzed using descriptive analysis; whereas, data of mathematics learning outcomes were analyzed using statistic descriptive analysis and statistic inferential analysis. The results show that the application of to grade in class VII at SMP Muhammadiyah Belawa in Wajo District is effective based on the aspects: (a) descriptively and inferentially, the mean score of posttest is 80.62 which is greater than the KKM and p-value is smaller than 0,05; (b) descriptively and inferentially, the average of gain value is 0.7 (moderate category) which is greater than 0.29 and p-value is smaller than 0.05; (c) students who complete are 91% which is greater than 85% and Z count score is greater than Z table (17,2549 which is greater than 1,9594); (d) the average percentage of students’ learning activities is 69% (active category) which is greater than 60%; and (e) the average percentage of students’ response is 79% (positive category) which is greater than 65%.
