Abstract

Buginese belongs to the great family of austronesia languages of indonesia which spoken by more than five millions bugis people (mahmud,2009). Their homeland is south sulawesi but many of then live in other provinces in Indonesia, they live in east kalimantan, jambi, central sulawesi, south east sulawesi , papua, bali, west sulawesi and some area in malaysia, especially in sabah east malaysia and johorbahru. buginese has four basic sentence pattern, they are SVO, OSV, VSO, and OVS. In buginese pronoun "i" Has three forms, independent pronoun"Iyya" (I),ergative pronoun'-ka'(I) and absolutive pronoun/clitics "u" (1) Buginese speakers employ some sentence pattern and pronoun with various purposes and function. One of the Purposes is for pragmatic reasons, in which the buginese speakers use various expression in morphosyntax ( lexicon and syntax)showing their identity.
