Abstract

ABSTRACT The research is research and development which aims to: (1) to produce physics learning devices based on guided inquiry which is valid, practical, and effective,(2) to describe whether physics learning devices based on guided inquiry which had been developed could improve the student’ interests, (3) to discover the improvement of the student’ learning results after applying guided inquiry learning devices which had been developed. The development of learning devices employed Thiagarajan model (Four-D) which consisted of, four stages, namely: (1) defining, (2) design, (3) development and (4) dessimination. The test of learning device was conducted to the student of class VIIIA students SMP Negeri 1 Majene District of academic year 2017/2018. The Data were colleted by using observation sheet, learning result test and questionnaire. The data analyzed by descriptive analysis technique. The result of the research reveal that (1) the learning devices produced in the research, namely Lesson Plan, Student’s Learning Material, Student’s Worksheet, Learning Interst Questionnaire, and Learning Results Test show that learning devices developed had met the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness, (2) Physics devices based on guided inquiry which were developed could improve the student’ learning interest, (3) The student ‘learning test result improve after the implementation of guided inquiry which was developed could be applied in improving student’ learning intersts and learning result, particularly in Vibration and Ware material
