Abstract

ABSTRAK the high or low quality of Mathematics learning process. There are many factors which influence the high or low of Mathematics learning results; however, the research is limited to parents’ attentions, learning motivations, social environments and learning activities. The research aims to discover to what extent the influences of parents’ attentions, learning motivations, social environments and students’ activiveness on Mathematics learning results of class VIII students at Public Junior High School in Rantepao Sub-district both directly and indirectly. The research is causality ex-post facto. The populations of the research were the students of class VIII at Public Junior High School in Rantepao Sub-district of academic year 2016/2017 with the total of 3 schools with 203 students as the samples taken by using proportional stratified random sampling technique. The instruments of the research were (1) parents’ attentions’ questionnaire, (2) learning motivations questionnaire, (3) social environments questionnaire, (4) learning activities questionnaire and Mathematics learning result test. The data of the research were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) analysis with R software. The results of the research reveal that: (1) most of the students of class VIII at Public Junior High School in Rantepao Sub-district have parents’ attentions which is in high category, the learning motivations is in high category, social environment is in good category, learning activities are in active category, and learning result is in low category, (2) parents’ attentions give no influence on students’ learning activities and give no influence on mathematic learning results of class VIII students at Public Junior High School in Rantepao Sub-district, (3) The learning motivations give motivations influence on learning activities by 0.76 or 76% and give no positive influence on mathematics learning results of class VIII students’ at Public Junior High School in Rantepao Sub-district, (4) the social environments give no influence on students’ learning activities and give no influence on Mathematics learning results of class VIII students at Public Junior High School in Rantepao sub-district, (5) the learning activities give no influence on Mathematics Learning results of class VIII students at Public Junior High School in Rantepao Sub-district, (6) the parents’ attentions give no influence on Mathematics learning results of class VIII students at Public Junior High School in Rantepao Sub-district through learning activities, (7) the learning motivations give no influence on Mathematics learning results of class VIII students at Public Junior High School in Rantepao Sub-district through learning activities and (8) the social environments give no influence on Mathematics learning results of class VIII students at Public Junior High School in Rantepao Sub-district through learnin activities.
