Abstract

(The Use of Salingtemas approach towards Activity, Motivation and Learning Outcomes Biology of Students at SMA Kristen Barana’) Sutrisno Abstract This study aims to (i) determine activity, motivation and learning outcomes of students of class XI SMA Kristen Barana’ who were taught by the approach of science, environment, technology ang society (salingtemas) on the subject of human motion system; (ii) know the difference between motivation and learning outcomes of salingtemas approach with convensional approaches on biology teaching in class XI IPA at SMA Kristen Barana’ on the material motion system of human. The results of this study indicate that: (i) the results of descriptive analysis shows the increase of student learning activities who are taught with the use of approaches salingtemas categorized effective ang better than conventional learning/control; (ii) learning motivation and biology learning outcomes of students who were taught with salingtemas approach has increased and is better than learning motivation and biology learning outcomes of students who were taught by convensional learning/control. (iii) There is a significant difference in learning motivation and biology learning outcomes of students who were taught trhough salingtemas approach with convensional learning approaches.
