Abstract

THE DEVELOPMENT OF COGNITIVE ASSESMENT INSTRUMENT ON PLANTAE MATERIAL OF GRADE X OF SENIOR HIGH Abstract The type of this study is research and development, aims at examining the quality of assessment instrument developed. The quality of assesement instrument is based on its validity, reliability, difficulty level, distinguishing and destructor effectiveness. The instrument development applied the instruments development procedure of formative research model which consist of several steps, namely sel evaluation, prototyping, small test and field test based on two data resources: (1) data validity, which is obtained from the expert assessment, (2) data validity of question item, reliability, difficulty level, distinguish and destructor effectiveness are obtained through the test assessment instrument on Plantae material. Data validity is analyzed using Gregory method and categorized based on the set standard; whereas, the question items validity, reliability, difficulty level, distinguishing and destructor effectiveness are analyzed using the assistance og ITEMAN program. The validation result reveals that the assessment instrument of Plantae material is categorized as valid with the value of 1.00 based on two experts’ assessment. While the questions items validity test result is in valid category with 90% and not valid is 10%. The result of reliability test is also included in reliable category with the value 0f 0.902. The difficulty level with easy category is 26%, fair category is 48% and difficult level is 26%. The distinguish category is very good with the percentage of 100% and the destructor effectiveness with effective category is 90% and 10% for ineffective.
