Abstract

Abstract: Short a serve in a game of badminton requires a special skill in playing ability so that while doing agood service and true opponent is not easy to turn off or drop the shuttlecock in his own field. To be able to do a short service required maximum movement skill acquisition so as to enable a person is able to perform a wide range of a serve in a game of badminton Therefore, kamampuan short service should be supported by the physical condition ofthe reaction speed of the hand. This study aims to determine the relationship of the reaction rate in hand with the ability to play badminton short service atSultan Hasanuddin boarding school students. This research is descriptive research. The study population was all students Pesantren Sultan Hasanuddin with a sample of 40 boys between the studies selected by random sampling. Data analysis technique used is the technique of correlation and regression analysis using SPSS version 15 o'clock systems at significant level of 95% or a0,05. Based on the results of data analysis, the study concludes that there is a significant correlation reaction speed hand with short service capabilities in the game of badminton at the boarding school student Sultan Hasanuddin, proved the value of the correlation of observations (rO) or-0.844 (P
