Abstract

This paper aims to describe the relationship between dakwah and prayer found in the works of calligraphy Abdul Aziz Ahmad. Dakwah meant to invite others to the path of goodness and implement Islamic law. Dakwah is usually done by oral onstage in addition can also be done through painting on canvas, or ink on paper. One of the propaganda material is organized into the assembly to always berdo’a. Because do’ a a weapon for Muslims. The discussion in this paper show five works of Islamic calligraphy as the focus of this study. Fifth of the work is; Family Do’a, Do’a Please Knowledge Benefits, Do’a Newlyweds, Allah never breaks His Promise, and the World Do’a Hereafter. Found that four out of five works, there is a link between the images with calligraphic text display. The fourth work is a work titled Allah never breaks His Promise. In the fifth paper entitled World Do’a. Hereafter, elaborated on the calligraphy works of Islam Abdul Aziz Ahmad; First, the basic pattern making a line of infinity. Second: The addition of objects that will be used as a background; wildlife, fauna, and flora. Third, the addition of Islamic calligraphy of text containing prayers ask God Almighty, salvation of the world and the hereafter. The fourth is finishing, such as shading on certain parts, to get the effect of light and dark.
