Abstract

ABSTRACT The objectives of the research were to geta descriptive knowledge of (1) the learning mood of the sixth semester students of English Education Study program in learning Method of TEFL subject, covering enthusiasm; enjoyment; optimism; and sincerity and (2) the learning readiness of the sixth semester students of English Education Study program in attendingMethod of TEFL subject, covering punctuality and preparation in learning. This research applied descriptive qualitative research taking the sixth semester students of English Education Study Program as the purposive sample. The data were collected through questionnaire, interview and classroom observation. The results of data analysis showed that (1) the students have good leaning mood because they had enthusiasm, enjoyment, optimism, and sincerity in attendingMethod of TEFL subject and (2) the students were well-prepared in attendingMethod of TEFLsubject indicated by their punctuality, their learning tools needed, their habits of reading and their efforts made for doing the assignments given.The researcher concludes that (1) the students will have good learning mood if they are taught by a competent lecturer, having good pedagogical, professional, personality, social and interpersonal communication competencies, (2) the students will be well-prepared if they are guided by the syllabus of the subject that navigates the students in their learning journey, and (3) the students will be highly stimulated to study if their learning progress is regularly checked by their lecturers. Hasilanalisisdata menunjukkanbahwa (1) mahasiswamempunyaikeadaanbelajarMethod of TEFL yang baikkarenamerekamemilikiantusiasme, kenyamanan, optimis, danketulusandalambelajardan (2) mahasiswamempunyaipersiapan yang baikdalambelajarmatakuliahMethod of TEFLdiindikasikanolehketepatanwaktu, persiapansemuaperlengkapanbelajar yang dibutuhkan, kebiasaanmerekamembacamateridanupaya-upayauntukmenyelesaikantugas-tugas yang diberikan.Penelitimenyimpulkanbahwamahasiswamemilikikeadaandankesiapan yang baikdalambelajarmatakuliahMethod of TEFL.Penelitimenyimpulkanbahwa (1) siswaakanmempunyaikeadaanbelajar yang baikjikadiajarolehdosen yang kompetenyaitudosen yang mempunyaikemampuanpedagogik, professional, kepribadian, sosial, dan interpersonal komunikasi, (2) siswaakanmemilikipersiapan yang bagusjikamerekadituntunolehsilabussebagaipedomanselama proses pembelajaran, dan (3) siswaakanterstimulasiuntukbelajarjikakemajuanbelajarmerekaselaludipantauolehdosen.
