Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemahaman konsep system persamaan linear dua variable ditinjau dari gaya kognitif siswa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah delapan siswa SMAN 2 Bantaeng dengan masing-masing dua siswa laki-laki dan perempuan dengan gaya kognitffield independent dan field dependent. Data diperolehmenggunakaninstrumenpenelitianyaitupenelitisendiri yang dibantudenganinstrumen lain berupatesGEFT (Group Embedded Figure Test), tespemahamankonsep, danpedomanwawancara. Teknikanalisis data menggunakananalisiskualitatif. Hasildaripenelitianinimenunjukkanbahwa: (1)Pemahamankonsepsistempersamaan linear duavariabelsiswa field independent dan field dependent menunjukkanperbedaanpadaindikatormengenaliberbagaimaknadaninterpretasikonsepsistempersamaan linear duavariabel. (2) Padaindikator lain menunjukkanbahwapemahamankonsepsiswa field independent laki-laki, field independent perempuan, field dependent laki-laki, dan field dependent perempuanmemilikipemahaman yang sama. Analyses of Student’s Conceptual Understanding toward Linear Equation Systems of Two Variables based on Cognitive Styles. Thesis. Faculty of Mathematics and Science. State University of Makassar. This research is a qualitative research which aimed at describing the students’ conceptual understanding toward linear equation systems of two variables based on students’ cognitive styles. Subjects of this research were four students of SMAN 2 Bantaeng. Two students, a boy and a girl, who have cognitive styles of field independent and field dependent respectively. Data were collected using research instrument, that is, the researcher supported by test of GEFT (Group Embedded Figure Test), test of conceptual understanding, and interview guide. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively. The result showed that: (1)Conceptual understanding towards systems of linear equations of two variables of field independent and field-dependent students have differences in the indicators to identify the various meanings and interpretations of the concept of systems of linear equations of two variables. (2) On the other indicators show that the students' understanding of the concept of field independent male, field independent female, field dependent male and field dependent female has the same conceptual understanding.
