Abstract

Reski Anugrah, 2021. The Application of Active Learning Strategies in Science Subjects to Improve the Learning Outcomes of Fifth Grade Students at SD Negeri 91 Tamalate Village, North Galesong District. Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Education, Makassar State University. This thesis was guided by supervisor I, namely Erma Suryani Sahabuddin and supervisor II, namely Widya Karmila Sari A.The problem behind this research is the low student learning outcomes in science learning for fifth grade students at SD Negeri 91 Soreang, Tamalate Village, North Galesong District. This study aims to describe the application of active learning strategies to improve science learning outcomes in class V students. The approach used is a qualitative approach and the type of classroom action research (CAR) which consists of 2 cycles, where each cycle consists of 2 meetings with the stages of activities covering: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The focus of this research is the application of active learning strategies and student learning outcomes. The research subjects were teachers and fifth grade students in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 school year, totaling 12 people. Data collection techniques used the format of observation, tests, and documentation. The data analysis used is qualitative. The results showed that there was an increase in learning outcomes in science learning both in teacher and student activities and student learning outcomes. The conclusion of this research is that there is an increase in student learning outcomes in science subjects, it can be seen from the results of observations of student learning outcomes and student learning outcomes in the first cycle are in the sufficient category (C) while in the second cycle student learning outcomes have increased at good category (B) so that the application of active learning strategies in science learning can improve the learning outcomes of fifth graders at SD Negeri 91 Soreang, Tamalate Village, North Galesong District.
