Abstract

The low numeracy skills of students are due to the difficulty of understanding abstract mathematical concepts, it is hoped that the use of PAKAPIN (Smart Pocked Board) media able to represent the material concretely. This The study attempted to reveal 1) overview of the use of PAKAPIN (Smart Pocked Board) media in grade 2 primary school (2) numeracy skills of the students (3) the effect of using PAKAPIN media on students’ numeracy skills in integrated-thematic learning in grade 2 primary school. This study was conducted through quantitative experimental study, pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. This study was conducted at grade 2 state primary school 133 hila-hila, Bontotiro district, Bulukumba regency, during the odd semester in academic year 2021/2022, This study consisted of 1 group selected using the saturated sampling method. The total number of the students are 26 students. The instruments were numeracy tests and direct observation. The gathered data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with parametric statistics Paired Samples Test t-test using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) application. The results shows that: 1) the implementation of using PAKAPIN media is in the very good category, 2) students’ numeracy skills increased before and after the treatments, namely the posttest score of 38,5% student was in the very good category, from previous pretest 7,7% students was in the enough category, 3) there is an effect of using PAKAPIN (Smart Pocket Board) media on students’ numeracy skills in integrated thematic learning grade 2 at State Primary School 133 Hila-hila, Bontotiro District, Bulukumba Regency.
