Abstract

The child with the initials MR is Male, and is a deaf student. The results of the observations made showed that they were not able to recognize number symbols in Mathematics. This was proven when the learning process was observed, where to show the numbers 1-5 the students pointed correctly, but the next day the students were unable to re-understand the symbol of the numbers they had learned before. The formulation of the research problem is 1. How is the ability to recognize number symbols 1-5 in class 1 deaf students at SLB Negeri 2 Makassar through the use of power point media, 2. How is the ability to recognize number symbols 1-5 in class 1 deaf students at SLB Negeri 2 Makassar before and after the use of powerpoint media and 3. Is there an increase in the ability to recognize the symbols of numbers 1-5 in class 1 deaf students at SLBN 2 Makassar through the use of power point media. The purpose of this study was to find out: 1. The ability to recognize number symbols 1-5 in class 1 deaf students at SLB Negeri 2 Makassar before using power point media, the ability to recognize number symbols 1-5 in class 1 deaf students at SLB Negeri 2 Makassar after using power point media and increasing the ability to recognize number symbols 1-5 in class 1 deaf students at SLBN 2 Makassar through the use of powerpoint media. This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive research type. The data collection technique in this study was in the form of a test. The subject in this study was a class 1 deaf student with the initials MR. The conclusions of this study: The ability to understand the symbols of numbers 1-5 in class 1 deaf students at SLB Negeri 2 Makassar is in the incapacitated category. The use of power point media can improve the ability to understand the symbols of numbers 1-5 in class 1 deaf students at SLB Negeri 2 Makassar who are in the increasing category. There is an increase in the ability to understand the symbols of numbers 1-5 in class 1 deaf students at SLB Negeri 2 Makassar
