Abstract

Verbal aggression arises due to the uncontrolled emotional anger that is being faced. Anger can be experienced by anyone, especially among teenagers. The resulting effect of uncontrolled angry emotions, will encourage the individual's desire to do negative things. This study aims to determine the effectivity of anger management training to reduce the tendency of verbal aggression in adolescent users of online mobile legends games in Makassar City. This study used the Pretest Post-test Control Group Design research design. Participants in this study were adolescents of the male sex who had a tendency to verbal aggression as many as 20 people who were divided into two groups, namely 10 participants were in the control group and 10 participants were in the experimental group. The measuring instrument used is in the form of an observation instrument for verbal aggression. Data analysis techniques using Mann-Whitney and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests. The results showed that anger management training was effective for verbal aggression tendencies in adolescent users of online mobile legends games in Makassar City (W= 6,000, ρ=0.001) with an effect of -0.880 and was included in the large category. The pre-test results of the experimental group (M = 6,800, SD = 2,440) were greater than the post-test mean of the experimental group (M = 3,500, SD = 1,080); and (W = 45,000, ρ=0.008), the pre-test of the control group (M = 6,000,
