Abstract

The main problem in this research is how the process of social interaction of foreign immigrants and the impact of social interaction of foreign immigrants on local communities in Makassar City. This study aims to process the social interaction of foreign immigrants and the impact of social interaction of foreign immigrants on local communities in Makassar City. This type of research is qualitative using a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study are foreign immigrants in the process of social interaction in the form of social contact and communication. While the impact of social interaction of foreign immigrants on society, namely the positive impact and negative impact. The positive impact is that people know the new culture, can communicate using verbal and non-verbal language, resulting in marriage. While the negative impact is the motive of infidelity and fraud.
