Abstract

This study aims to discover: (1) the influence of the family environment on students’ learning interest in IPS in SD Murhum subdistrict in Baubau City, (2) the Influence of schoolenvironment on students' learning interest in IPS in SD Murhum subdistrict in Baubau City, and (3) the Influence of family environment and school environment on students' learning interest in IPS at SD Murhum subdistrict in Baubau City. This type of research is a quantitative study with a sampleof 186 students consisted of grades IV and V in all SD in Murhum subdistrict in Baubau City. Data collection techniques employed questionnaire and documentation. Data analysis technique employed descriptive analysis which included the mean, mode, median, mean, and standard deviation. As well as inferential statistical analysis, which included classical assumption test and hypothesis testing in the form of regression analysis, t test, and F test. The results of the study show that: (1) there is an influence of family environment on students' learning interest in IPS in SD Murhum subdistrict in Baubau City with a probability value (Sig.) of 0.004 less than 0.05,(2) there is an influence of school environment on students’ learning interest in IPS in SD Murhum subdistrict in Baubau City with a probability value (Sig.) 0.000 less than 0.05, (3)there is an influence of family environment and school environment on students’ learning interest in IPS in SD Murhum subdistrict in Baubau City. The contribution of the influence is shown by the value of R Square or R2 of 23.1% and the rest is 76.9%. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is anInfluence of family environment and school environment on students' learning interest in IPS in SDin Murhum subdistrict in Baubau City.
