Abstract

The Jeneberang Watershed is one of the national priority watersheds that requires special attention in its management. This category is based on the consideration that the condition of the watershed is poor, especially the erosion rate is quite high and the productivity of the land is considered to be decreasing. The management of the Jeneberang watershed has not been carried out optimally due to the limitations of the community in implementing conservation measures so that its management can only be done simply. This can be seen from the emergence of various problems and conflicts between various interests in the Jeneberang watershed area, one of which is the emergence of environmental problems such as erosion. These problems can have an impact on decreasing production and farmers' income, as well as silting in the Jeneberang watershed. The purpose of this study was to determine the rate of soil erosion and how the results compare with the results of erosion calculations in the Jeneberang watershed using the USLE and MUSLE methods. This research method is descriptive quantitative with purposive sampling data collection. The results of this study showed that the erosion rate that occurred in the Jeneberang watershed using USLE was 23.86 tonnes / ha while the MUSLE method was 15.92. The ratio of these two methods is 1: 2,4.
