Abstract

ABSTRACT "Analysis of Various Languages During the Covid-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019) Pandemic". This study aims to: (1) describe the various forms of language during the Covid-19 pandemic; (2) describe the function of various languages during the Covid-19 pandemic. This type of research is qualitative research. The research design used is descriptive qualitative. This research was conducted by listening to and noting the variety of languages contained in the appeal regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. The data source in this study is the appeal related to the Covid-19 pandemic on the social media youtube.com. The technique used in data collection is observation, listening, and taking notes. The results of the study found the form and function of various languages during the Covid-19 pandemic. The various forms of language during the Covid-19 pandemic, namely the official variety, the business variety, the casual variety, and the familiar variety. The functions of various languages during the Covid-19 pandemic, namely the function of managing the actions of listeners (directive), the function of showing a sense of togetherness in social relations (fatigue), the function of discussing events around them (referential), and function to provide information (informative).
