Abstract

The aim of this descriptive research was determine Students’ Creative Thinking Ability through Applying CPS Model at Senior High School Grade XI MIA2 of SMAN 1 Tellu Siattinge studies on thermochemistry. The subject of this research were 31 students of XI MIA2. The instrument were used in this study to measure the ability of creative thinking process (observation during the learning takes place) and products (achievement test). The data was obtained by observation during the learning takes place to determine the ability of creative thinking process and learning results test to determine the creative thinking skills of products. It concluded that the average creative thinking ability process of the students was 27.09% and categorized as very low. Percentage of creative thinking process were: 1) Fluency have percentage was 21.80% with very low category, 2) Flexibility have percentage was 17.42% as very low category, 3) Originalilty have percentage was 9.68% as very low category and 4) Elaboration have percentage was 12.58% with very low category. While the average of the students' creative thinking skills product was 62.43% and categorized as medium. The aspect and percentage of ability thinking product were: 1) Fluency have percentage was 89.67% as very high category, 2) Originality have percentage was 63.22% as medium category, 3) Flexibility have percentage was 70.16% as high category and 4) Elaboration have percentage was 49.78% as low category.
