Abstract
ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the form of persuasive language used in the socialization of the Covid19 health protocol on television and to describe the function of using persuasive language in the socialization of the Covid-19 health protocol on television. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted by listening to and noting the use of appropriate language contained in the socialization of the Covid-19 health protocol which was broadcast on television via the YouTube site. Sources of data in this study obtained from news programs on television in the form and function of persuasive language. The techniques used in data collection are observation techniques, listening techniques, and note-taking techniques. The research instrument consists of the main instrument, namely the researcher himself. The results of the study found the form of persuasive language in the socialization of the Covid-19 health protocol on television and the function of using persuasive language in the socialization of the Covid-19 health protocol on television. Forms (1) Imperative Sentences contain the intent to command, (2) The interrogative sentences contain the intent to ask, and (3) Declarative Sentences contain the intent to preach. The persuasive function is the use of language that is influencing or inviting others to do or not do something well. Keywords: Persuasive language, Socialization, Covid-19 health protocol
