Abstract
Abstract: Implementation of Constructivist Based Learning to Improve Problem Solving Skill of Grade X MIA 5 Students at SMAN 1 Sungguminasa. This study is a classroom action research which aims at obtaining the description of constructivist-based learning process that can improve problem solving skills in Physics subject of grade X MIA 5 students at SMAN 1 Sungguminasa in Gowa district. The subject of the study were the students of grade X MIA 5 on the second semester of academic year 2015/2016 with the total of 46 students, consisted of 17 female students and 29 male students. The study was conducted in two cycles which consisted of four activities, namely the planning, the implementation of treatment, observation, and reflection. The result of the study reveal that (1) the learning activities of the students using constructivist�based learning approach improve from cycle I 52.00% (fairly active category) to cycle II 81.73% (very active category); (2) the observation result of learning management by the teacher in cycle I and II is at the range of 90.00%< NR< 100% which categorized as very good; (3) the average score of LKPD (students’ worksheet) improves from cycle I 2.96 to 4.08 in cycle II; (4) the average score of problem solving skills of students improve from cycle I 2.37 to 4.12 in cycle II or improve by 73.84%. The conclusion based on the result of the study is the constructivist-based learning can improve problem solving skills of grade X MIA 5 students at SMAN 1 Sungguminasa.
