Abstract

Abstract This study aims to: (i) To describe the use of audio visual media in Pembina Benteng Selayar State Kindergarten, (ii) To describe the expressive language skills of children aged 5-6 years at Pembina Benteng Selayar State Kindergarten, (iii) To find out how The relationship between the use of audio-visual media and the expressive language skills of children aged 5-6 years at the Pembina Benteng Selayar State Kindergarten. This study uses a type of correlational research. The population in this study were group B children aged 5-6 years at the Pembina Benteng Selayar State Kindergarten, totaling 96 children. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a sample size of 15 children. Data collection techniques used are observation, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis carried out was descriptive statistical analysis, normality test and Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed that: (i) the use of audio-visual media in the Pembina Benteng Selayar State Kindergarten, as many as 7 teachers belonged to the Frequent (SR) category and as many as 8 teachers belonged to the Always (SL) category seen from the procedures for using learning media, (ii) language skills Expressive expression of children aged 5-6 years in the Pembina Benteng Selayar State Kindergarten, as many as 10 children belong to the category of Developing According to Expectations and as many as 5 children belong to the category of Very Good Development seen from the indicators of expressive language of children aged 5-6 years observed, (iii) there is a relationship There is a very strong and unidirectional signification between the use of audio-visual media and the expressive language skills of children aged 5-6 years at the Pembina Benteng Selayar State Kindergarten.
