Abstract

This study examines the ability of learning outcomes of children with disabilities in the Indonesian language subject, especially in beginning writing at SLB YPAC Makassar. The formulation of the problems in this study are: (1) "How is the initial writing skills improved through the use of busy books in class III disabled children at SLB YPAC Makassar?". The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) the initial writing ability of class III disabled children at SLB YPAC Makassar before being given intervention. (2) Initial writing ability of class III disabled children at SLB YPAC Makassar at the time of giving the intervention. (3) Initial writing skills of grade III disabled children at SLB YPAC Makassar after giving the intervention. (4) Improving the initial writing skills of grade III disabled children at SLB YPAC Makassar based on analysis between conditions before being given the intervention, when being given the intervention and after being given the intervention. The data collection technique used was a written test. The subject in this study was a class III quadriplegic child with the initials NH. This research is quantitative descriptive. The results showed that the initial writing skills before the use of busy book media in class III disabled children were in the less able category, then the initial writing skills in class III disabled children after using busy book media were in the able category, there was an increase in initial writing skills through the use of media busy book. It can be concluded that the use of busy book media can improve initial writing skills in class III disabled children at SLB YPAC Makassar..
