Abstract
This study aims to identify and analyze what are the challenges of Islamic education in the Covid 19 period in Indonesia in general, what are the challenges of Islamic education in the Covid 19 period and how to solve them. The data was obtained through a literature study and then analyzed based on actual facts that occurred in the territory of Indonesia that there were three things that became challenges for Islamic education during the Covid 19 period, namely technological progress, moral decadence, and boredom in following learning. Islamic Religious Education aims to form and develop students' personalities in accordance with the values of Islamic teachings. Along with these goals, in practice Islamic Education learning emphasizes the transmission of religious values and morality into the behavior and actions of students. Not only conveying Islamic religious knowledge but also fostering behavior in students based on Islamic religious values. However, with the Covid-19 virus pandemic, faceto-face learning in schools cannot be carried out. Government policy requires learning to be done online. Online learning creates obstacles in the emphasis and habituation of Islamic teachings into the behavior of students. Keyword: challenge, Islamic Education, Covid
