Abstract

Abstract The family is a place of refuge and support but in fact, there are cases of family murder. In research there were 3 aims to determine, first analyze the background of the case, second to analyze the feelings of the subject after committing murder and third to analyze the relationship between the subject and the victim who is a member of his own family. The methods research is qualitative research. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Subjects were 2 people is D and SR. The data collection used in�depth interviews. Based on research that has been carried out, family murder is an economic motive as the main motive. Then the accompanying motive is the subject tries to defend himself because he gets physical attacks. The two subjects did not feel ashamed and guilty for the murders that had been committed but only felt sorry for committing the murder which made him a prisoner. Third, before the murder, subject D and the victim had a good relationship and helped each other, while SR subject indeed not had any contact with the victim for a long time. The conclusion is that family murder occurs because of economic motives and self-defense. 2 subjects did not feel guilty after the murder. Relationship’s subject and the victim has no effect the possibility of murder. The research results are expected to be a scientific reference understanding the phenomenon of family murder.
