Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to determine the quality of physics, chemistry, and biology of shallow groundwater in Bontonompo Village, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency. 2) To determine the feasibility of shallow groundwater in Bontonompo Village, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency to be used as a source of drinking water. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research, which is used to describe and analyze a systematic research result on the quality of groundwater for drinking water needs in Bontonompo Village, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency. The data analysis technique used is the Scoring Struges method. The results showed that the quality of the water in the bontonompo village was not exceeding and exceeding the maximum allowable water level for drinking water so that the water could not be used for drinking water. The parameters that exceed the maximum levels are temperature and odor parameters at points II, IV and V, turbidity parameters at points I, II, IV and V, namely 68.0, 17.4, 169, 243 with a maximum limit of 5, color parameters at points II and IV namely 20.0 with a maximum limit of 15, the iron (Fe) parameter at points I, II, IV and V, namely 0.465, 3.527, 2.326, and 0.775 with a maximum limit of 0.3, the e-coli parameter for all points is 130, 130, 130, 5400 and 2200 with a maximum limit of 0. Based on the results of the analysis using the Stuges Method, it shows that points I and III are in the class that is suitable for use as a source of drinking water, and at points II, IV and V are in the class that is not suitable for use as a source of drinking water
